The Keystone Centre Board of Directors held a kick-off event Thursday morning (May 16) for its public consultation process as it develops a Master Plan for the site going forward.
Open house sessions are scheduled today at the Brandon Curling Club at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm and 6:30 pm – and an online survey is also open until June 15th. It can be found at Keystone Centre 50+ Public Engagement Survey (surveymonkey.ca)
A recent economic report by Praxis Consulting Group and OC Leadership, based on 2023/24 Operating and Financial Results, said the Keystone Centre had a $78.1-million annual economic impact provincially, and $61.2-million regionally. It also generated 2,025 employment opportunities directly supported through annual operations.
The Chair of the Board of Directors, Bruce Luebke, shared the results at a gathering of community members and dignitaries, including Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew, saying “We have always been an organization that believes in strengthening the Regional and Provincial Economy. The results of our recent Economic Impact Analysis showcase that the amazing operations and events hosted at the Keystone Centre, by ourselves and our partners, are critical to the economic resilience of our community.”
The Keystone Centre is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and is hosting a free outdoor concert on June 15th featuring Begonia, Boy Golden, and Fontine. The concert is part of a day-long celebration of the facility’s past, present, and future.
