-The Brandon Wheat Kings return to the ice tonight against the Tri City Americans. The Wheat Kings will be looking to build on their 4-3 overtime win last Saturday against the Regina Pats.
-Next action for the Brandon AAA U18 Wheat Kings is Saturday night at J&G Homes Arena when they face the Central Plains Capitals. The Wheat Kings, Winnipeg Bruins and Southwest Cougars are all currently tied at the top of the league standings with 27 points.
-The Winnipeg Jets are in Pittsburgh against the Penguins tonight. The 16-and-3 Jets are coming off a 6-3 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
-The Brandon University Bobcats men’s and women’s basketball teams, and the men’s volleyball team are in Alberta for games tonight and Saturday. The Bobcats women’s volleyball team is in Regina tonight and Saturday.
-In the NFL Thursday night – the Cleveland Browns edged the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-19.
-and Major League Baseball will test robot umpires during spring training next year. They’ve been testing the system in minor league parks since 2019, but is still working on the shape of the strike zone. The plan is to use
the automated ball-strike system during the MLB regular season in 2026.
