On March 14th at 08:58 am, Brandon police were called to a vehicle/pedestrian accident in the 1300 block of Van Horne Avenue. A truck was southbound on 13th Street and a seven-year-old female pedestrian was going eastbound. Police say the girl was struck by the truck after she saw her friend across the street, and darted out from behind a vehicle. The girl was taken to Brandon Hospital for a lower leg injury. Police say thankfully no life-threatening injuries were reported. There will be no charges against the driver of the truck.

On March 14th at 09:55 am, police were called to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue for a report a female had concealed cosmetics in her purse and left the business. Police arrested a 37-year-old female in the area. The items were returned to the business. The accused had also been banned from the business for previous incidents and was charged under the Trespass Act. She was released for court on May 30th, 2024.

On March 14th at 10:40 am, Brandon police attempted to stop a truck for a traffic violation in the 100 block of McTavish Avenue. The vehicle was followed for a few blocks with emergency equipment activated, but the vehicle did not stop for police and fled the area. It was determined to be unsafe to pursue the vehicle. No excessive speeds were reached. A brief time later police located the vehicle abandoned in the ditch on 17th Street East. Police followed the footsteps from the vehicle and located the 24-year-old male driver. Police say he did not have a valid driver’s license. He will now face a criminal charge of flight from police and will appear in court on May 27th, 2024.

On March 13th at 2:34 pm, a 43-year-old female turned herself in to Brandon Police Service as she was aware she had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. The accused was arrested and held for court on March 15th, 2024.

On March 14th at 01:26 am, Brandon police were called to a disturbance in the 1600 block of Stickney Avenue. The homeowner reported her ex-boyfriend was banging on her windows and doors. The male was also on an order to not have any contact with the victim. Police say an intoxicated 36-year-old male was arrested and will be released in the morning for court on May 16th, 2024.

On March 14th at 04:11 am, police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1200 block of 10th Street. Police say an intoxicated 16-year-old male was arrested. He will be released in the morning with a ticket for consuming liquor underage.

On March 13th at 10:00 pm, Brandon police were called to the Brandon Regional Health Center for a report of an intoxicated male causing issues. A 42-year-old male was arrested and will be released in the morning.
