Assault by choking.
On May 20th at 7:17 pm, Brandon police received a call reporting a 36-year-old female had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. A 36-year-old male was arrested for allegedly choking the female victim and threatening her with a knife. The accused was held for court on May 21st, 2024.
Theft Under $5000
On May 20th at 9:39 pm, police were dispatched to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue for a report that a female had filled a bag with cosmetics and fled. Police say an 18-year-old female was located a short distance away with the stolen merchandise. She was also allegedly in possession of three debit cards belonging to other people as well as bear spray, a folding knife, three sets of pliers and .5 grams of meth. The accused was held for court on May 21st, 2024.
Breach of Peace
On May 20th at 11:35 pm, police were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of McTavish Avenue East. Police say an intoxicated 33-year-old male was arrested. He will be released in the morning.
