On October 17, 2022 at approximately 9:40 pm, Brandon police received a report that a group of approximately eight female youths were fighting near the exit of Superstore on Victoria Avenue. Police say one of the youths in the group dropped a knife, which was picked up by another youth who then allegedly used it to stab a 16-year-old girl five times. The business was secured and members of BPS Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Unit attended to investigate. A 15-year-old female suspect, who allegedly assaulted the victim, was arrested. She was later released to a parent and will appear in court on December 6, 2022 on a charge of Aggravated Assault. The injuries the victim received were serious. She was transported to the hospital to receive treatment, where she remains in stable condition.

On October 17, 2022, police responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from Aster Crescent shortly before 9:00 am. Police say the owner left the grey 2011 Chevrolet Malibu running to warm up. It has Manitoba license KTW120. On October 17, 2022 shortly before 7:00 pm, Brandon police were flagged down by witnesses who had come across an intoxicated male in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. Police say a 45-year-old male was in no condition to care for himself, and there was nobody to look after him. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober.
