The province’s run of 13 straight days of no new cases of COVID-19 has ended, as five new cases have been identified, increasing Manitoba’s total to 330. In the Prairie Mountain Health region the total remains at 26.
Health officials say five active cases remain with no COVID patients in the hospital or the intensive care unit. The number of deaths due to the virus remains at seven, 318 people have recovered.
Public health officials advise five new cases of COVID-19 have been identified as of 9:30 a.m. today. The total number of lab-confirmed positive and probable positive cases in Manitoba is now 330.
An additional 304 tests were completed on Monday, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 71,803.
Today’s newest cases include:
– a young woman between ages 10 and 19 from the Southern Health – Santé Sud health region;
– a man in his 20s from the Winnipeg health region;
– a man in his 40s from the Interlake-Eastern health region;
– a woman in her 20s from the Winnipeg health region; and
– a woman in her 30s from the Southern Health – Santé Sud health region.
The province says one of the individuals was a passenger on WestJet flight 261 from Winnipeg to Calgary on June 27 and WestJet flight 526 from Calgary to Winnipeg on July 2.

People on those flights are being asked to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.
