BPS arrest alleged impaired driver Wednesday morning

The driver of a vehicle, that plowed into the traffic lights in the 1300 block of 26th Street in Brandon, has been charged with impaired driving.

Police say the incident happened overnight on Wednesday. 

The 41-year-old suspect had a blood alcohol level at twice the legal limit and is to appear in court later this month.


Brandon police are looking for a suspect in a break-in on Tuesday night.

At around 8:00 pm, officers were called on a home on 20th street - where residents say they returned home to find a female inside - she had apparently broken in through the front window. 

The homeowners said they knew her, but she wasn't invited over and fled before police arrived. 


And at around At 10:30 Tuesday morning, Brandon police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of 9th Street.

A 53-year-old Brandon man was arrested for assaulting his partner.

He was released from custody and will appear in court September.
