BPS arrested a 74-year-old man for an alleged assault on Wednesday

And another string of break-ins are under investigation

On November 24, 2021, shortly after 10:00 am, Brandon police responded to a report of an assault on an employee at a business in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. Police say a 74-year-old man had been prohibited from entering the business, and when an employee approached him to ask him to leave, the suspect allegedly kicked the employee. The victim not require medical attention. Police arrested a suspect who is to appear in court on January 17, 2022 on a charge of assault.

On November 16, 2021, police responded to a report of a theft from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. A male suspect left the area before he could be arrested, but police say he was later identified through security footage. On November 24, 2021, officers located and arrested a 29-year-old man following a separate incident in which witnesses reported an alleged intoxicated male yelling outside an apartment building in the 700 block of Lorne Avenue shortly after 7:00 pm. Police say the suspect unsuccessfully attempted to evade arrest by resisting. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Resist Arrest.

On November 24, 2021, Brandon police responded to a report of a male swinging a metal pipe in the 600 block of Rosser Avenue at approximately 12:30 pm. Police say the man was allegedly striking objects in the laneway with the pipe, and behaving in a threatening manner towards witnesses. Police arrested a 30-year-old man, who they say was intoxicated contrary to a Probation order, which also prohibited him from carrying any weapons. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today (Nov 25) on charges of Possession of a Weapon and Fail to Comply with Probation.

On November 25, 2021, at approximately 12:30 am, Brandon police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of 14th Street. Police say the 29-year-old female driver refused the Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand. She was arrested and later released to appear in court on December 6, 2021.

Brandon police responded to a string of break-and-enters on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Police received a report of a break and enter to a storage trailer, parked in a yard on Marquis Crescent. Suspects entered the trailer overnight by cutting the lock. Stolen was an air nailer, laser level and a variety of tools. 

A residential shed was entered in the 1500 block of 26th Street. Police say the lock was cut overnight. It is not known if anything was stolen. 

And police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business storage trailer, which was parked in the 2400 block of Dietrich Street. On November 24, 2021, police located and arrested a 46-year-old man who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was later released to appear in court on January 20, 2022.

On November 24, 2021 at approximately 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of a woman passed out in a washroom of a business in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. Police say a 23-year-old woman was allegedly in no condition to care for herself and had nowhere to go. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
