The City of Brandon is aware of what's happening in Winnipeg regarding mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for certain Winnipeg municipal workers, but hasn't made a decision yet if it'll do the same.

In a short email reply to Q Country/Star FM news, the City of Brandon said "Regarding, mandatory vaccinations for municipal staff, we are continuing to take this matter under advisement."

In Winnipeg, all city employees who have ongoing contact with vulnerable people, including children under 12, and those who work in high-risk settings with direct, ongoing contact with the public, must be fully-vaccinated against the virus by November 15th.

The order includes workers in public safety, community protection, recreation services, public transportation and public-facing customer service roles.

Winnipeg says they must have their first shot by September 30th and their second dose by October 28th.
