Brandon police arrest man accused of assaulting a woman with a knife

Officers also arrest two suspects who allegedly robbed a business

Brandon police arrested a 24-year-old man Sunday (June 13) night who faces multiple assault charges

Officers allege the suspect attacked a woman with knife at home on 2nd Street shortly after 9:00pm, causing minor injuries. Police then say the suspect went outside and assaulted another man and damaged a vehicle.

The 24-year-old was charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Mischief under $5,000 and was released for a later court date.

Also Sunday (June 13) night, in a separate incident, in the area of 18th St and Kirkaldy Avenue, a 23-year-old woman was busted for throwing a large rock at another person who she knew. The female victim was not seriously injured. 

The suspect was released for a later court date.

At approximately 3:30 pm on Sunday (June 13), two suspects were arrested for stealing items from a business in the 1400' block of 1st Street while armed with bear spray. 

Officers say the vehicle they fled in was later found in the 1000' block of Victoria Avenue and contained all of the stolen items, which were the returned to the business. 

Two woman, aged 36 and 25, were charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. 

The two suspects were to appear in court Monday (June 14) morning.

A 31 year old man was charged for Break and Enter as a result of an investigation from March 24th, 2021. The incident occurred in the 200 block of 1st Street. The suspect appeared in court Monday (June 14) morning on this charge.

Other arrests;

A 36-year-old man was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Failing to Comply with Probation order and was released for a later court date. 

A 60-year-old woman was arrested for breach of the peace for causing a disturbance in the 100 block of 2nd Street.
