Brandon police arrest suspect who allegedly hit a person with a baseball bat

Officers also locate vehicle reported stolen last month

Brandon police arrested a 30-year-old man Tuesday (Apr 13) night on a charge of Assault with a Weapon.

Police allege the suspect struck a person at a home with a baseball bat. 

Officers say the victim was able to flee to a neighbor's home for help, and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday (Apr 14).

A vehicle that had been reported stolen from the 1000' block of 26th Street back on March 17, 2021 has been safely located.

Brandon police say the vehicle, a grey 2004 Chevrolet Colorado, was found abandoned Tuesday (Apr 13) in the 800' block of 24th Street.
