The organization set to compile a database of those families in need

Due to the pandemic, the board of the Christmas Cheer Registry decided to cancel this year's Christmas hamper campaign with the safety and health of their volunteers in mind, but the Brandon and District United Way says its stepping in and will take over assembling and distributing hampers this year.

At this time, the non-profit group is reaching out to organizations who normally recommend families to Christmas Cheer, in order to compile a database of those in need. Organizations who may have the ability to create and provide hampers are also being asked to contact the United Way.

Brandon residents, businesses or employee groups who would like to help are asked to contact the United Way at office@brandonuw.ca.

Volunteers will be needed as gift wrappers, packers and delivery drivers - and the United Way is also open to anyone wishing to adopt families - and to make toy, food, and monetary donations.
