If your organization is helping the homeless outside the City of Brandon there's money available for projects.
The Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation has an Agreement with the Government of Canada to administer the Reaching Home homelessness funding in rural Manitoba, and they're accepting proposals.
There is $250,000 available through the Indigenous Reaching Home stream and $540,000 available in the Rural and Remote Reaching Home stream. The funding must be fully invested by March 2022.
Proposals may be for covid response or non-covid related projects to address homelessness. Eligible activities and expenses must meet the main community priorities:
-Provision of housing and support services
-Homelessness prevention and shelter diversion
-Connecting to health and medical services
-Client support services
The full directives of Eligible Activities under the Reaching Home funding in the Context of COVID-19 can be found here: http://bnrc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/HPD-RHDirectives-COVID-19-EN.pdf
It is important that homeless serving organizations applying for this funding work collaboratively within their community to provide a collective response to the health and homelessness crisis.
