Province reporting death number 43 due to COVID-19 and 135 new cases

No new cases identified in Prairie Mountain Health

The province is reporting death number 43 due to COVID-19, a man in his 80s from the Winnipeg Health region. 

Health officials also announced 135 new cases increasing Manitoba's total to 3,626. 

Of the new cases; four are in the Northern Health region, 12 in Southern Health, 17 in the Interlake region, and 102 in the Winnipeg Health region. 

The number of active cases across the province has risen to 1,774, with only 26 in Prairie Mountain Health, and 10 in Brandon.

Meanwhile, Manitobans continue to be asked to reduce the number of close contacts outside their household and avoid closed-in or crowded spaces. In addition, they should focus on these fundamentals to help stop the spread of COVID-19:
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Wash/sanitize your hands and cover your cough.
- Physically distance when you are with people outside your household.
- If you cannot physically distance, wear a mask to help reduce the risk to others or as required by public health orders.
