The Brandon Wheat Kings and Regina Pats made a one-for-one deal on Tuesday morning.
The Wheat Kings acquired 19-year-old forward Duncan Pierce in exchange for fellow 19-year-old forward Caiden Daley.
Pierce has played 94 WHL games over parts of three seasons with the Pats, scoring 8 times and putting up 24 points. He is expected to join the Wheat Kings in the next couple of days and could make his team debut on Friday night.
Meanwhile, Daley a former 1st round pick of the Wheat Kings has played 212 games in the league, scoring 18 times and registering 56 points.
“Duncan is a hardworking, physical player that will help our penalty kill. A fresh start should benefit both players,” said Brandon General Manager Darren Ritchie. “We would like to thank Caiden for his work on and off the ice as a member of the Wheat Kings.”
It’s the second trade with Regina in the last month… Earlier in October defensemen Zach Wytinck was sent to the Pats in exchange for a 5th round draft pick.
