On June 30, 2022, shortly before 2:00 am, Brandon police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of 6th Street. Police say the driver, a 28-year-old woman, was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. Following her arrest, further investigation with the assistance of a Police Service Dog revealed she was in possession of approximately 1.7 grams of Fentanyl. The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl, as well as outstanding warrant charges of Fail to Comply with Probation, Theft Under $5000, and Fail to Appear in Court X2.

On June 30, 2022 at approximately 2:30 am, police responded to a report a male was attempting to fight others at a residence. Police arrested the male, but he reportedly continued to struggle once in custody and allegedly kicked an officer while making threatening remarks. The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on September 15, 2022 on charges of Resist Arrest, Assault Peace Officer and Uttering Threats.

On June 29, 2022, at approximately 8:30 am, Brandon police responded to a report of a male who followed an adult female in the area of the 800 block of 26th street. Police say the man approached the woman and asked her if she wanted to buy some DVD’s before allegedly grabbing her by the wrist. Police say she managed to lose him before she contacted police.
Also on June 29, 2022, at approximately 11:30 am, police responded to a separate report of a male checking balconies in the area of the 1600 block of Sycamore Drive. Police located and arrested a 29-year-old man who was found to be intoxicated. Police allege he was the same man from the above incident in the area of 26th Street. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level and he will appear in court on September 12, 2022 on a charge of Assault.

On June 30, 2022 at approximately 1:00 am, police responded to a report of a man who was trying to get into vehicles in the 500 block of 12th Street. Police say they located a suspect and attempted to arrest him, but he took off running. He didn’t get far, as officers already had the area surrounded. Upon his arrest, he allegedly provided a false name and was found to be in possession of a knife. When police learned his identity, he was found to be in breach of several orders. A 33-year-old man was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Resist Arrest, Fail to Comply with Release Order X4, Identity Fraud, and Carry Concealed Weapon.

On June 29, 2022 shortly before 10:00 am, Brandon police were in the area of the 800 block of 2nd Street when they came across a 23-year-old man who they say was to abide by a condition not to attend the City of Brandon. The suspect was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 25, 2022 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

On June 29, 2022 shortly before 2:00 pm, police responded to a report of a woman who had just entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1500 block of 9th Street, and allegedly stole some money. Police say the victim followed the suspect on foot to a residence in the 400 block of 8th Street where the suspect was later arrested. A 20-year-old woman was later released and will appear in court on August 25, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.
