In January 2022, Brandon police received a report of a fraud. Police say a 44-year-old male allegedly took a debit card from a family member who had been admitted to the hospital. They say over several weeks, he reportedly made numerous ATM withdrawals totaling over $8,000 before other family noticed and took the card away. On May 19, 2022, the suspect was arrested and later released to appear in court on July 7, 2022 on a charge of Fraud Over $5000.

On May 19, 2022, shortly after 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of the theft of a cell phone and purse from a vehicle parked near the area of the 600 block of Dennis Street. Security footage assisted police in identifying a female suspect. Police located and arrested a 20-year-old woman on May 20, 2022 at approximately 1:00 am. Police say she still allegedly had the cell phone. The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

On May 20, 2022, shortly before 6:00 am, Brandon police responded to a report of an assault at a residence. Police allege a 42-year-old man assaulted a female who then required medical treatment for her injuries. Police also say the male was also to abide by conditions not to communicate with the female. Following his arrest, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Assault Cause Bodily Harm and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

On May 19, 2022, shortly after 7:00 am, police responded to a report of a man behaving strangely in at a business in the 1500 block of 18th Street. Police located a 30-year-old man, and officers were concerned that his actions would escalate. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent his actions from causing harm.

On May 19, 2022, Brandon police responded to a report of a break and enter to two storage trailers that were on a construction site in the 3400 block of McDonald Avenue. They say suspects cut the locks to the trailers overnight and stole a variety of power tools including two hammer drills.
