The Brandon Wheat Kings begin the second half of the Western Hockey League (WHL) season against the Pats in Regina tonight.

Brandon enters the game at 12-16-4-0 with 28 points, good for 10th place in the WHL Eastern Division. Regina has 36 points in 7th place with a record of 15-17-1-and-1.

The Wheat Kings last outing versus the Pats was back on October 5th when the Wheat Kings lost 3-1 despite putting a season high 52 shots on Pats goaltender Matthew Kieper. The Wheat Kings will look to take advantage of a Pats team without Connor Bedard and Stan Svozil who are representing their countries in the World Juniors. The Wheat Kings will be getting a boost on the back end with Charlie Elick expected to return from injury. Elick was forced to leave the December 2nd game versus the Prince Albert Raiders with an upper body injury.

Who’s Hot: Brett Hyland is currently on a 7 game goal scoring streak. Hyland currently has 9 goals scored in his last 8 games. Forward Nate Danielson has been stellar as of late scoring 24 points in his last 15 games. Nolan Ritchie has 15 points in his last 11 games. Calder Anderson has 9 points in his last 5 games and is on a 5 game point streak.

Q Country 91.5 FM's pre-game show starts at 6:45 pm - puck drop and play-by-play with Chase Johnston follows at 7:00 pm.

On Friday, December 30th, the Wheat Kings visit the Moose Jaw Warriors before returning home to host the Warriors on New Year's Eve.
