The Brandon MCC Relief Sale, scheduled for the fall at the Keystone Centre, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and concern for the safety and health of the volunteers and the hundreds of people who attend the sale.
The Brandon MCC Relief Sale, is one of 38 similar events in North America. The MCC works in many places around the world to address hunger, poverty and relief for those who have lost their homes due to disaster, conflict or crises like the current pandemic.
In 2019, the Brandon MCC Relief Sale raised more than $70,000 to help fund MCC’s disaster response efforts in countries such as Madagascar and Mozambique and support of refugees in places like Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. The fall sale typically offers an opportunity to purchase local produce and meats, handicrafts, plants, pies, a variety of gently used items and a Mennonite lunch of perogies, farmer sausage and dessert.
The 36th Brandon MCC Relief Sale is set to take place in September next year.
