The City of Brandon will have a ceremony to unveil ‘Dan Halldorson Drive’ this afternoon.
Halldorson, who was born in Winnipeg and raised in Brandon, had seven career wins on the Canadian Tour and won one official PGA Tour event – the 1980 Pensacola Open. He finished a career best 36th on the money list that year.
He was elected to the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in 2002, and the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
Halldorson died of a stroke in 2015 at age 63.
The ceremony to name the honorary road will take place at Pacific Avenue and 34th Street at 3:00 pm.
