Meanwhile, with summer in full swing, it is important to remember to maintain physical distancing at beaches. Standard physical distancing practices should be followed, including two metres or six feet of separation from other beach users outside a family group, and four metres or 12 feet of separation between each group’s towels and blankets on the beach to allow for foot traffic to and from the water.
The life-jacket loaner program has been reinstated by Manitoba parks at 11 provincial parks. There will be some occasional cleaning efforts made, but after consulting with public health officials, it has been determined the risk of transmission would be relatively low and was balanced against the risk of drowning if someone needs a life jacket. Park visitors are still encouraged to bring their own life jackets if they are a non-swimmer.
