James Montgomery, who was GM of Brandon Riverbank Inc. has announced he’s seeking the nomination for the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba in the Brandon West constituency
In a media release, Montgomery said, “The time is right for me and my family to take the next step. The best move for me currently is to serve the community that I love, so I’ve decided to put my name forward.”
Montgomery, originally from Carman, Manitoba is well-known in the Brandon community. Aside from Brandon Riverbank, he’s worked with the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba and most recently with the RM of Cornwallis. He says his “approachable, positive attitude is what he believes residents of Brandon-West can expect from him as their MLA should he have the opportunity take office.”
“I will continue to be the person that this community has known for the past 14 years,” Montgomery added. “My commitment to community service and volunteerism is unwavering. I will always respect those who disagree with me and I strongly believe we can disagree with each other while respecting the dignity of all of our neighbors.”
Montgomery’s political experience includes being the primary health care attendant for former Member of Parliament, Steven Fletcher and Constituency Assistant to former Member of Parliament, Merv Tweed. Montgomery has volunteered on many municipal, provincial and federal election campaigns in the past and looks forward to running in the 2023 Provincial Election to retain the seat for the Manitoba PC Party to represent the people of Brandon West.
