Two new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the province increasing Manitoba’s total to 324, in the Prairie Mountain Health region the total is still 26.
Health officials say the number of active cases has risen to 17, no COVID patients are in the hospital of the ICU. The number of deaths related to the virus remains at seven, while 300 people have recovered.
The two newest cases involve a woman in her 20s, and a man in his 30s, both from the Winnipeg Health region. Initial reports indicate the two cases are related to travel or are close contacts of previously identified cases. Information will be updated as investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, with Canada Day on Wednesday, Manitobans are reminded to continue to practise physical distancing and follow public health guidelines for gatherings whether at home, the cottage or camping. Stay home if you feel sick, practise good hand hygiene and cover your cough. If you are travelling, remember to be ‘COVID Careful’ and reduce stops.
