Heavy snow Friday night through Saturday night.
A developing low pressure system tracking along the international border will spread accumulating snow into southwestern Manitoba Friday night.
Moderate easterly winds with this disturbance will produce areas of blowing snow on Friday night and into Saturday afternoon, which could result in deteriorating travel conditions. Additional warnings or advisories may be needed should forecast wind speeds or snowfall amounts increase further.
The snow will taper off Saturday night as the system departs.
Please refer to local forecasts for more details on the expected conditions and timing of this system. ECCC meteorologists will be actively tracking this system as it develops; please monitor for updated forecasts and/or alerts.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
