T-Birds Take Out Bobcats

The Brandon University volleyball teams closed out their road trip to Vancouver with a pair of losses Saturday night.
The Bobcats got 16 kills from Sam Tuivai in a straight sets setback against the UBC Thunderbirds.
Set scores were 28-26, 25-22 and 25-17.
Sebastien Steigmeier added nine kills for BU, who have dropped four straight matches and sit with a record of 7-9.
The defending conference champions are tied with the Saskatchewan Huskies and Winnipeg Wesmen for the seventh and final playoff spot.
On the women's side, the second-ranked Lady 'Cats were swept by the top-ranked T-Birds as the top two teams in nation split their weekend doubleheader.
Set scores were 25-17, 25-13 and 25-16.
Vaovai Aiono had eight kills for Brandon who sit tied for second-place at 12-4 with the Trinity Western Spartans.
Alexis Loewen added five kills and three blocks for the Lady 'Cats.
