THE SETUP
The Brandon Wheat Kings bring a two-game winning streak into this afternoon’s meeting with the Moose Jaw Warriors. It’s the second game this week between these two Highway #1 rivals. Brandon earned an 8-3 victory back on Tuesday. The Warriors are coming off a 2-0 loss on Thursday to Prince Albert.

Ben McCartney recorded his first career hat-trick and Connor Ungar made 38 saves as the Wheat Kings clinched the season series vs their provincial rivals. Brad Ginnell and Brett Hyland had the other goals for Brandon.

Eric Alarie – The Winnipeg native leads the Warriors in scoring with 19 points. Eight of which have come on the powerplay.
Daemon Hunt – The Minnesota Wild prospect has 14 points in 17 games. He always brings a feisty physical game vs his home town team and is a threat on the powerplay with eight points.

Ride the Wave – Connor Ungar has turned in two of his best games ever in a BWK sweater. On Tuesday Ungar kicked aside a season high 37 shots and followed that up with a 38 save performance on Wednesday. Ungar is now a perfect 3-0-0-0 when making 30 or more saves.
Get a Lead– Brandon is a perfect 11-0-0-0 when holding a lead at the second intermission. In fact, Brandon only has one loss when trailing after the first period as well. However, Brandon has yet to come back in a game and are 0-3-2-0 when trailing after the 2nd period.
