Prairie Mountain Health says the provincial youth immunization catch-up program is taking appointments for immunizations such as HPV, hepatitis B, meningococcal disease, tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. Information is posted at https://protectmb.ca/school-immunizations/
Letters have gone out indicating if a young person in the household is due/overdue for a routine immunization, usually given in grades 6, 8 and 9. Parents/caregivers can make appointments in Brandon and Dauphin to catch up on youth/school-based immunizations for young people who have missed these routine school-based immunizations due to the pandemic.
Appointments can be booked the same way as a COVID appointment, online at https://protectmb.ca/ or through the vaccine call centre at 1-844-626-8222. When booking online or through the call centre, indicate you are booking for the youth catch-up immunization.
You can also contact your local public health office in PMH for local appointments or continue to go to your local health care provider for these immunizations.
