Pete Gerlinger

Pete has been an integral part of the Brandon Wheat Kings radio broadcast team since 1983 and has been the full time Color Analyst since 2005.

 The Crocus Plains High School teacher played in the WHL for the Seattle Breakers and the Great Falls Americans from 1978-1980 before finishing his career in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Drumheller Falcons. 

Pete joined the Brandon University Bobcats in 1985 and had a stellar career being named a two time All-Canadian and earning his way into the BU Hall of Fame in 1993.

After his playing days ended, Pete began coaching high school hockey. A 19-year coaching career with Neelin (1 year), Vincent Massey (6 years) and Crocus Plains (12 years) wrapped up in 2017 after six league championships. 

Pete can be heard providing analysis for every Wheat King home game and select road games on QCountry 91.5.

The Calgary Flames 

What is your favourite Wheat Kings moment in history?

The 2010 Memorial Cup playoff win against Calgary. The 2016 WHL championship was pretty special too.

Who is your all-time favourite Wheat King?

Marty Murry. He was explosive and had a way of electrifying the crowd which wasn't always an easy thing to do.
