Dungeons and Dragons and D'Awesomeness

An amazing time is only a d20 away

Knights slaying dragons! A ranger holding off a hoarde of ravenous goblins! Commanding an army of golems to attack your enemies! Believe it or not, YOU can have these adventures, all from the comfort of your own home.

I miss playing D&D. When I used to live in Winnipeg, I had a semi-regular game that I would take part in, and my Dwarven berzerker would rain havoc upon his foes. Unfortunately, life gets in the way, and I haven't had an excuse to break out my 20-sided dice (d20s) in ages.

For those who dont know, or who assume it's just a "nerd game", Dungeons and Dragons is a game fuelled entirely by your imagination. You want to explore a dark and dusty tomb? You can do that. If the people you're partying with aren't doing what you like, and you want to attack them? Well, you'd better roll for initiative, because you can TOTALLY do that.

I love expansive tabletop games, and the cool part about this one is that literally almost ANYTHING could happen. You never know what to expect, except that there's BOUND to be some trapped doors in your future.

Why I'm mentioning this, is that its actually a GREAT game to play with your socially distanced comrades. There are various chatting/gaming apps where you and some friends can play out a full game and not even have to leave your homes. Trust me when I tell you, despite what preconceived notions you have about it, D&D is amazingly fun. If you don't believe me, I'm sure there's an episode of The Big Bang Theory that can show you.

And hey, if D&D isn't your thing...maybe superheroes are. There's another version of the game, called Mutants and Masterminds, that's perfect for all of the budding Wolverines and Iron Men out there.
