The year was 1993. An 8-year old Dan Everett eagerly dug into the latest issue of his beloved comic books, only to see something amazing: SUPER MARIO BROS. WAS GOING TO BE MADE INTO A MOVIE! Finally, one of his favourite video game series was going to be on the big screen. As a young kid from a small town, this was one of the biggest things to happen to him in quite a while. Then, he saw the movie, and he hasn't gotten over his disappointment since.
Has that ever happened to you? Have you gotten SO excited to see a game you love get translated into a TV Show or movie, only to have it flop horribly? Granted, sometimes it can pay off (like with The Witcher). But for every Witcher, there's a Super Mario Bros. Or Doom. Or Bloodrayne. Or Resident Evil and its 800 sequels. The less said about Battleship, the better.
Do you think Hollywood needs to give up on translating games into movies, or is there still something you'd like to see?
