Three years ago when we decided we should get a dog we scoured ads and websites looking for the "perfect" addition to our family. We hadn't considered a rescue but when our initial searches were unsuccesful we started checking out the dogs that were available through Funds For Furry Friends. One little guy immediately jumped off the page and right into our hearts. We applied, met him, and three days later he came to live with us. This was a decision we have never regretted. He's sweet and snuggly, and funny, and playful, and chocked full of attitude. He has trust issues with people outside our family and he hates the garbage truck, doorbells, and the dishwasher and will bark incessantly whenever he hears them. He's also the most loveable, adorable little character and we can't even remember what life was like without him. There are so many wonderful organizations dedicated to finding "furever" homes for rescues. Check them out and next time you are considering adding a pet, consider adopting a rescue. I guarantee it will be one of the best things you have ever done.
