With all the controversy these days surrounding students returning to school it got me thinking about when I was in school. Granted, it was many many years ago but I distinctly remember a few teachers that made a difference. Like most kids I had favorite teachers through my educational years. I loved my grade 1 teacher, Mrs. Brown, and Mr. Clifford in grade 6. I remember Mr. Hoover in Grade 11 had a bizarre sense of humor. My son had some amazing teachers (and some not so much) but there was one that made a very profound statement to me when he was struggling and she managed to get through to him - she said "If he can't learn the way I teach then I need to teach the way he learns". Covid-19 has created abnormal struggles for students and teachers and I thought it might be nice to give a shout out to teachers meeting the challenges head on, whether it's in class or online. As far as I'm concerned you all rock!
