One of the hot topics amid this pandemic is the wearing of masks. I’ve come across a few local business with signs on their doors stating masks are required to shop there. OK. Social media is burning up as people debate their reasons for wearing one or not. I’m actually shocked at the number of videos being shared showing people without masks purposely going into places that require customers to wear them. They all play out the same. They are informed by security that they must wear a mask or they will have to leave. Here’s where their righteous indignation kicks in and they refuse, usually hurling insults at security and spouting nonsense about how being forced to wear a mask violates their human rights. Some of them stage sit-ins while others just fly into a rage demanding to see the manager. It boggles my mind. Is it really a choice if businesses tell us we have to wear a mask? You bet it is, the choice is you can shop there or not. Don’t worry, I’m sure you can still wear your pyjama pants.
