Move over kids, Grandma and Grandpa are ready to enter the smartphone conversation. It seems they have finally mastered the art of texting. In fact, 1 in 3 seniors say they now prefer texting to phone calls 

The reason for the jump is because young people hate phone calls, that's not an opinion, It's a fact. A couple years ago whenever I got a phone call I would legit look at my phone until the call went to voicemail, I couldn't just send it to voicemail then they would know, you had to wait it out. Now thanks to a new update I can just exit out of the screen so I can still use my phone while they try and call me

So since young people hate talking on the phone texting has been a great way for the grandparents to stay in touch with their kids and grandkids 

Grandma and Grandpa have also been dabbling with emojis with the most popular emjoi being the Heart emoji
