Boissevain’s Natasha Armstrong is taking her boxing talents south of the border.
The 16-year-old is competing in the Canadian women’s youth and elite training camp and dual meet with Team USA.
The event is running next Tuesday to Sunday at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
"It’s such a cool opportunity to go," Armstrong told CKLQ’s Tyler Crayston. "We’re training with the people who we’re going to be fighting against at the end of the week and so it’ll definitely be different. I’ll learn some new drills and working with different coaches and stuff that’ll definitely be really cool."
The Brandon Boxing Club standout was a silver medalist at the Canadian junior nationals in November and sports an impressive record of 35-6.
"This will lead to going to more kinds of these things with the national team. Next year for nationals I’ll have more people watching and probably bigger tournaments like the world championships for women," said Armstrong.
