The Virden Oil Capitals added some depth to their defence core yesterday, acquiring 20-year old blueliner Owen Solecki from the OCN Blizzard for prospect Mark Klassen and future considerations.
Solecki was in his first year with OCN after spending the last two seasons with the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
The 6-foot-2, 200 pound product of Burns Lake, B.C. has one goal and nine points in 35 games this season.
The 17-year old Klassen is currently playing with Pembina Valley in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League, where he has five goals and 24 points in 30 games.
The CJHL / MJHL trade and roster deadline comes up this Saturday.
Other moves Wednesday included Swan Valley trading Boissevain product Jaggar Thomas, 20, to the Winkler Flyers for future considerations while Brandon product Carson Perreaux has joined the Portage Terriers for the rest of the season.
