Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – The Brandon Bobcats men’s volleyball teams couldn’t stop the train that was the Winnipeg Wesmen who came all the way back from an early 1-0 series deficit to win the final two matches and advance in the Canada West playoffs.
The Bobcats lost in four sets to Winnipeg on Sunday at the Healthy Living Centre, losing 25-22, 25-14, 11-25 and 25-21.
It was a tough day for the Bobcats team, who couldn’t find a spark all afternoon, with the exception of nine point run led by the serving of Daven Pascal in the third set which eventually led them to the only set victory during the day.
In every other aspect of the game, Winnipeg controlled the pace, and they rallied back in the three-game series, where they lost the first five sets.
Now Winnipeg will head out to British Columbia, where they take on Trinity Western in the semi-finals.
Brandon’s season ends after a 17-7 record and 10-1 on home court during the regular season.
