Elkhorn, MB (CKLQ) – Early on in the first overtime, Jason Shaw scored the championship-winning goal for the Grandview Comets to win the North Central Hockey League title.
Grandview swept the Miniota-Elkhorn C-Hawks in three straight games to win the championships.
The Comets tied the game late in the third period to force the extra overtime frame.
The C-Hawks came into the playoffs losing just once in regulation all season and was the defending league champions, but was upset by the third ranked Comets.
Grandview will now advance to the senior hockey provincials in April.
