Virden, MB (CKLQ) – Ben Dalke scored 3:27 into the first overtime to give the Virden Oil Capitals a 3-2 game 1 victory over the Winkler Flyers in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League semi-finals.
Dalke got his sixth goal of the playoffs, keeping home-ice advantage in the hands of the Oil Capitals as they travel to Winkler for Game 2.
The two teams exchanged two goals each in the second period.
In about four minutes, Winkler put themselves up by two, but it was quickly erased by Virden’s two goals in later in the period.
Virden peppered Winkler in the shots column, winning 47-36.
Game 2 is on Sunday in Winkler, and will start at 7:30 p.m.
