Virden, MB (CKLQ) – After starting the best-of-seven series up 2-0, the Virden Oil Capitals have lost their home-ice advantage and are now part of a much shorter best-of-three series.
The Steinbach Pistons defeated the Oil Capitals 4-0 on Monday night, to tie the MJHL Final series at 2 games a piece.
Matthew Thiessen only had to stop 23 shots in the game, as the Pistons outshot the Oil Caps 33-23, not allowing Virden to shot in the double digits in the first and second periods.
Mark Taraschuk scored the game winner 10:06 into the first period.
The Pistons also got goals by Darby Gula, Auston Heidemann and Brady Tatro.
Game 5 will be in Steinbach on Thursday, starting at 7:30pm.
