St. Rose du lac, MB (CKLQ) – Ryder Rodriguez, 8-years-old, is from St. Rose du lac. That name may sound familiar as he started up the Beanies for Preemies fundraiser earlier this year.
Well, he is back at it again with another fundraiser. Ryder plays hockey during the winter and is trying to score a hat-trick, however, that triple won’t be on the ice. He was concerned when he found out that a friend couldn’t play hockey this year because of costs and has decided to help.
Ryder has come up with a fundraiser that he is calling, The Hat-Trick.
"His goal is to raise the first $1,000 to pay for a kid himself, and looking for local businesses to raise enough for two other kids, thus being the Hattrick," says his mother.
Ryder hopes to raise his portion through a raffle. Tickets are $5 each, which the family will be selling at the Dauphin Co-op, this thursday (Aug.29), from 10-5.
There are some really great prizes such as; a signed Winnipeg Jets jersey, and a Dauphin Kings pass for home games. If you are outside the area and interested in supporting Ryder, you can contact the family through his Facebook page, Ryder Rodriguez Kids Helping Kids.
