As some of you may know, I am newly married. I have been with my husband for a total of 5 years and married for 2 months. I have cared for him while he has been sick, injured or just in a mood.
What I have not done, up until a few days ago, was carefully remove thee most disgusting blood sucking vile TICK from the dead center of his backā¦.. with my good tweezers.
Yes, being in the prairies I have learned that ticks are just a thing you learn to live with. THIS YEAR THOUGH, I swear they are the worst they have ever been.
Yesterday he came home from walking the dog in Sprucewoods and had 5 of the tiny ninja bugs crawling on him. I screamed; goosebumps formed on my arms from shuddering at the thought that they could end up on me!
Carefully and with steady hands I removed the tick, making sure the head came with it. Squeezing hard to crush it and then flushing it with hopes of it never surfacing again.
In that moment I thought, enough is enough. How do I prevent these invaders from taking over our summer and spare my good tweezers?
Tick prevention with humans is simple.
The CDC has a list of tips and tricks to help make sure you can spare your good tweezers and help avoid the blood suckers from taking over.
