Love it or hate it, you can’t deny that Westworld took the world by storm. Originally a novel by Michael Crichton, Westworld tells the tale of a theme park and the robots that inhabit it. It was also made into a movie before the wildly successful HBO program.
Well, the producers of Westworld are hoping to duplicate that Crichton magic once again, but this time we’ll be diving to the bottom of the ocean – the novel that they want to adapt is none other than Sphere. If the name sounds familiar, it too was made into a movie, starring the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Sharon Stone, and Dustin Hoffman. In my opinion, not as good as the book, but few movies are, am I right? (I’ve also tossed in the trailer for the Sphere movie, which you can see below.)
My question: if you could take your favourite novel and turn it into a movie and/or tv show…what story would you pick? I’m still patiently waiting on a live-action version of Clifford the Big Red Dog.
