RCMP Major Crime Services investigators arrested a previously identified 36-year-old female suspect in the homicide of Bud Paul on Sunday (Dec 20).
Paul, a 56-year-old man from Winnipeg, was last seen August 1st at a liquore store in Neepawa with two other people, and was apparently on his way to Dauphin. Then nine days later, on August 10, a burned SUV, that officers later discovered belonged to Paul, was located in Winnipeg. His body was found on August 11 in Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation.
Officers say the woman was arrested in Winnipeg and taken to RCMP Manitoba Headquarters for questioning. She was released on Monday (Dec 21) without charges.
Police note the woman remains a suspect in the death of Bud Paul. The investigation is ongoing and no further details can be provided at this time.
