Parents of Westman, I’ve got another question for you. A TikTok video has gone viral once again and it’s stirring up a debate in the parenting community. A mom on TikTok posted a video of her cleaning her kid’s room. We don’t see the child in question, but we see a toy-filled, clothes thrown everywhere, dirty room.
I hated seeing the look on his face when he seen his room. It hurt me just as much but my babies will not be disrespectful #parenting #fyp #foryoupage
Now we don’t see the kid in question, but the mom reveals that she asked her son to clean up his room multiple times over a few days. He refused and told her to do it. Naturally, she did what she thought was best and cleaned his room. The only issue is that her cleaning involved throwing out all of her son’s toys and leaving his room looking like it had never been lived in.
Here’s where people had the issue. Some said this was a tad too far. I guess judging from other videos, people determined that her son was young, and asking him to clean the disaster that was his room, might have been too big an undertaking. I agree that the room was really dirty, based on what the video showed, and that the mess was a lot for a kid possibly around 3 to take care of on their own. That and people said throwing everything away was a bit of a waste, as this mom could easily have donated the toys, or just keep them hidden until her son earned them back.
Unsurprisingly, some people said this was a perfect reaction to a kid not wanting to do what their mom said after she’d asked multiple days in a row. I think that this comes back to the age thing. If this kid was 3 years old or somewhere around there, mom should have stepped in sooner and not let the room get that messy. Throwing out all the toys just to show your kids what happens if he doesn’t do as you say is a little strong. But I’m not a parent. What do you think Westman parents?
