May 4th, 2021. Today many people know it as “Star Wars Day” Which yes it is but it is also International Firefighters’ Day.
Living in the prairies, I have heard and seen many bush fires, structure fires and everything in between.
Living in Alberta in 2016, just a few hours south of Fort Mac when the wildfire tore through over a million acres and destroyed so many homes, I developed a bigger appreciation for firefighters. They put their lives on the line every day and today we take the time to appreciate and thank them for all that they do. If you know a firefighter here in Westman, thank them for their service.
