Out of the handful of celebrities I’ve met in the Westman area the last few years, all of them have been pretty nice to me. Fred Penner at the Winter Fair was an absolute delight. Doodles the clown is always super kind. However, you don’t often get celebs apologizing for rude behaviour to fans. Maybe it’s a half-hearted “Sorry I was tired” post on Twitter, but most of them don’t put any effort into it. Until this week! John Mayer has made up for something kinda rude from 15 years ago, that wasn’t exactly his fault.
A fan on Twitter named brian burns posted a throwback pic of his mom trying to get a picture with John Mayer 15 years ago. His manager stopped that from happening and John looked none too happy. Obviously, most of us can’t imagine the stresses that come with being in the public spotlight, and from the look of the pic, it seemed more like the manager trying to get angry/tired looking John somewhere to rest. Just the other day John Mayer poked fun at himself for the pic and responded with an apology on TikTok:
Lose a pic, win a song. #music #birthdays #chromatic #songwriting #piano
I gotta say, as far as apologies go that one was pretty dang great. Have you ever had a bad interaction with a celebrity? Did it make you like them less?
