Brandon police recovered a stolen vehicle Thursday (Aug. 5) morning and arrested a 47-year-old man.
At 2:10 am, they responded to a report from a security company of a suspect, who was seen on security footage, siphoning gas from vehicles in the 1600 block of 1st Street North.
Officers say the suspect left that location, but was located travelling north on Hwy #10. Once the Alberta license plate was queried, police learned it was stolen out of Alberta.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle; however, it contiued to travel west off Hwy #10 into a field south of Agnew Drive. Police did not pursue, but observed the suspect travel towards the area of Marshall Ln and Matheson Ave where they were waiting.
The suspect drove out of one ditch, and into another, where he struck a landscaping boulder near the 2000 block of Marshal Ln. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot, but could not outrun the member pursuing him and was in custody by 2:23 am.
The suspect, a 45-year-old man from Alberta, suffered minor injuries from the motor vehicle collision with the boulder, and was treated at hospital. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possess Property Obtained by Crime, Flight from Police, Operation of Conveyance while Prohibited, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Resist Peace Officer.

On August 4, 2021, shortly after 10:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Victoria. An investigation led police to learn that the driver, a 27-year-old man, was in possession of 1 kg of Crystal Meth and 9 oz. of Cocaine, which were seized.
Following the arrest of the suspect, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth, Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, and Proceeds of Crime.

On August 4, 2021, at approximately 9:30 pm, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of 18th street N. Employees witnessed a man leave the business carrying a TV and sound bar.
Police located and arrested the 41-year-old suspect nearby. He was also found to be the subject of Release Order conditions of which he was in breach.
The man was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to comply with Release Order.

On August 4, 2021 shortly before midnight, police located and arrested a 37-year-old man who was in possession of stolen property. An investigation revealed that the man was attempting to sell the items, which were stolen from several separate thefts. He was later released to appear in court on September 13, 2021 on a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

On August 4, 2021, shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of theft of approximately $5000 in merchandise from a business in the 1500 block of 18th street. Employees stopped the 27-year-old woman and held her until police arrived. Following her arrest, she was released to appear in court on October 28, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

On August 4, 2021, shortly before 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence. A 29-year-old intoxicated man was found to be the cause of the disturbance as he was damaging household items. He was also to abide by conditions not to contact another individual in the home. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level. He will be released when sober to appear in court on September 9, 2021 on charges of Fai to Comply with Release Order and Fail to Comply with Court Order.

On August 5, 2021 shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of an intoxicated person in a business in the 3100 block of Victoria Ave. Employees attempted to persuade the 37-year-old man to leave, but he refused. To prevent his actions from escalating, he was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On August 5, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance outside a residence at 4:30 am. A 30-year-old suspect was yelling at the residents through the window and was not welcome there. He was found to be the subject of a curfew. He was arrested and later released to appear in court on October 7, 2021 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

On August 4, 2021 shortly before 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated man in the 200 block of 9th street. Police found that the 58-year-old was in no condition to care for himself, and he had nowhere to go. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On August 4, 2021, police located and arrested a 41-year-old man who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
On August 4, 2021 shortly after 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 800 block of Princess Ave. The cause of the disturbance, a 35-year-old woman was found to be wanted on outstanding charges including Mischief to Property Under $5000 and multiple charges of fail to comply with conditions. Following her arrest, she was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to her level of intoxication. She will be released when sober to appear in court on October 7, 2021.
