On August 6, 2022, at approximately 9:15 am, a Neepawa RCMP officer was on patrol in a marked police vehicle at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 10 near Minnedosa in the RM of Minto-Odanah, Manitoba.
The police vehicle was travelling westbound on Highway 16 and slowing down at the approach to the stop sign at Highway 16 and Highway 10 when it was struck by a SUV.
Initial investigation has determined that a SUV northbound on Highway 10 was taking the yield east onto Highway 16 and took the turn too fast, crossing the divided line and striking the police vehicle.
The 16-year-old female driver from Brandon and the RCMP officer both received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital. Both have since been released.
A RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative Team are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
