On December 10, 2022, at 12:20 am, officers from Virden RCMP received a report of a stabbing at a residence located on the Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation.
Officers, along with EMS, attended and located a 26-year-old female, from Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, with life-threatening injuries who was later pronounced deceased on scene.
The investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Rennie Kristyna Williams, from Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, who was charged with Second Degree Murder in relation to this homicide. She was remanded into custody for a court appearance scheduled for December 12, 2022, in Brandon.
Virden RCMP, along with RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
